WHO WE ARE

"The goal of the West Lafayette Go Greener Commission is to promote and enhance sustainable environmental well-being within the City of West Lafayette and among its residents for present and future generations. The commission strives to gather and disseminate sustainability focused information, plan and promote practical sustainability-focused initiatives and public policies, and measure, monitor, and report on the City of West Lafayette’s progress on sustainability."

The West Lafayette Go Greener Commission was established by the City Council in 2008 to highlight and boost green efforts in the City. This site has information for community members interested in learning more about the Commission's efforts and initiatives. Anyone in the West Lafayette / Tippecanoe County region can apply to be a member of Go Greener.  Our current voting board members are:

Meetings

The Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the West Lafayette Public Library. All meetings are open to the public. 

To become involved as a commissioner, please complete the Go Greener Commission Application listed below, and email Lindsey Payne, paynel@purdue.edu.  The application may be turned in to the Mayor's Office located, 1200 North Salisbury, West Lafayette, IN or emailed to Lindsey Payne at the above email address. Applications will be held on file if no positions are currently available.

West Lafayette Go Greener Foundation

In 2018, Go Greener members recognized a need for alternative funding sources for Commission projects and initiatives to enhance sustainable environmental well-being for the West Lafayette community. The West Lafayette Go Greener Foundation was approved in 2018, securing non-profit status that enables the Commission to accept donations and apply for additional grants to improve West Lafayette.
